Arrests…prison sentences…extensions of arrest…releases

The occupation forces arrested on Wednesday afternoon two students from the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan. Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation forces arrested 15-year old Mohammad Ibrahim Salaymeh and 16-year old Adham Ali Ja’abees from the neighborhood of Ras Al-Amoud in Silwan after they got off school. Witnesses explained that the forces were stationed in the Schools’ Street since the morning hours when students were heading to their schools and remained until students got off school. In a related matter, the forces arrested 18-year old Louai Abu Hummos after raiding and searching his house in the village of Esawyeh; they extended his arrest until Sunday. The forces also arrested 15-year old Mahmoud Shallodi from the neighborhood of Al-Sowaneh and Baker Shami from Wadi Al-Joz in Jerusalem. Prison sentences… Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the judge sentenced Mohammad Atrash for 4 months of actual imprisonment, a suspended probation of 6 months for three years and 3600-NIS fine. The judge also sentenced Amjad Qawwas for a suspended probation of 6 months for three years and a 5-thousand NIS fine in addition to a 180-hours course. Extensions of arrest The judge extended the arrest of the child Malek Shqeir and Mohammad Assaileh until next June; and the children Haitham Khweis, Hasan Abbasi, Emran Abu Sbeih, Mohammad Sarhan and Majd Halawani until 5/4/2016; Tawfiq Othman and Rama Abdellatif until 3/3/2016; Adnan Rajabi until 6/3/2016 and Ahmad Za’tari until 29/3/2016. He also extended the arrest of Mahmoud Abu Usba’ until 11/4/2016; he was convicted with “attempt murder”. The judge also extended on Wednesday the arrest of Mus’ab Alayan, Abed Abu Ter and Luqman Aton until 7/3/2016, Samer Abu Eisheh until 14/3/2016 and Issa Dirbas until 3/3/2016. Releases… The police decided to release the 15-year old Safeer Tahan on condition of house-arrest for 5 days, and the judge decided to release Asma’ Asmar with a 1000-NIS bail, house-arrest for 6 days and a third-party bail.
