March 21, 2016

The occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished on Monday morning the foundations of a residential building in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber south of Jerusalem under the pretext of building without a permit.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that large Israeli forces raided the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber and surrounded the construction site of a building owned by Suhaib Ja’abees (brother of prisoner Isra’) and started demolishing the foundations without prior notice.

Ja’abees family explained that the bulldozers demolished the foundations of Suhaib’s building under the pretext of building without a permit. The building has a surface area of 180 square meters and the family started construction 8 months ago and has been trying to obtain a building permit from the municipality since then but was surprised by the demolition operation.

The family pointed out that the forces completely surrounded their home during the demolition operations and prevented anyone from leaving. The soldiers also tried to provoke the residents by calling them “terrorists”.
