The occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished on Tuesday morning a private playground, a room and several walls in the neighborhood of Abbasyeh in Silwan.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that joint crews of occupation municipality, Nature and Parks authority and Special Forces raided the neighborhood of Abbasyeh in Silwan and surrounded a land owned by Khaled Al-Zeer which was turned into a playground few months ago by placing toys for children such as a swing, a slide and other toys.
Khaled Al-Zeer explained that the forces raided the playground without prior notice and damaged the toys and swept the land. They also demolished the walls of a 12-square meters room used for livestock and as storage area for the family.
Al-Zeer added that the bulldozers deliberately damaged and swept the land, removed and cut the trees.
The forces used force to keep young men away from the demolition site and threw a big rock towards Al-Zeer to force him to stay away; they also assaulted Jihad Al-Zeer.
Occupation’s bulldozers also removed the wires surrounding the land of Al-Zeer. The Nature and Parks authority have threatened to seize the 14-Dunoms land (14000 square meters) to turn it into a “national park” to serve settlement projects.
Sweeping an agricultural land
Mohammad Sumrein explained that the occupation bulldozers surrounded their house in the neighborhood of Abbasyeh in Silwan and swept a land planted with grains and various seedlings.
Sumrein explained that the family turned the land from a landfill into an arable land and also placed benches to serve the locals; bulldozers damaged it today without prior notice.
He added that the occupation municipality recently forced him to remove a barracks used for horses that was placed in the land.
During the sweeping process, the forces assaulted and severely beat 21-year old Adam Sumrein.
