May 16, 2016

The occupation intelligence decided today to release the bodies of two Jerusalemite Martyrs in order to bury them in the cemeteries of Um Tuba and Jabal Al-Mukabber south of Jerusalem; the releasing process will take place after midnight.

Al-Dameer organization lawyer, Mohammad Mahmoud, explained in a statement that the occupation intelligence decided to release the body of 16-year old Mutaz Aweisat who has been detained in their freezers since last October and the body of 51-year old Fadwa Abu Ter who has been detained since last March.

Regarding the releasing conditions, lawyer Mahmoud explained that the intelligence will release the body of Abu Ter near the cemetery of the village of Um Tuba while Martyr Aweisat’s body will be released near the cemetery of the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber with the presence of only 45 people in each funeral. The intelligence also conditioned the Martyrs’ families to deposit 20 thousand NIS in order to ensure commitment to their conditions.

Lawyer Mahmoud pointed out that the releasing of Jerusalemite Martyrs’ bodies came after a recommendation has been made by the Israeli Supreme Court to release the bodies before the month of Ramadan.
