On the anniversary of occupying Jerusalem: 307 307 settlers break into Al-Aqsa Mosque…and the police arrest two girls
June 5, 2016

Dozens of settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque through Dung Gate on Sunday under heavy protection by Special Forces that were deployed in the courtyards and accompanied them during the break-ins.

The Islamic Awqaf Department explained that 307 settlers broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque-in session in response to calls made by the “alleged temple organizations and groups” that called on settlers to break into Al-Aqsa on the 49th anniversary of occupying Jerusalem.

A group of settlers attempted to practice their religious ritual inside Al-Aqsa courtyards and were confronted by the guards and later on evacuated by the Israeli police. One settler laid on the ground (part of his religious rituals) near Al-Qataneen Gate and was immediately confronted by the guards.

The police arrested two girls while exiting Al-Aqsa Mosque through Al-Majles Gate.

Concurrently with breaking into Al-Aqsa, dozens of settlers are carrying out tours and marches near Al-Aqsa Gates and in the markets of the Old City of Jerusalem in preparation for the yearly “flags march” organized on the anniversary of occupying Jerusalem.
