The Supreme Court reduces the sentence of two Jerusalemites…and the police arrest two of Al-Aqsa guards
The occupation police arrested two of Al-Aqsa guards while the Israeli Supreme Court reduced the sentence of two Jerusalemites; a boy and a young man.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the Israeli police arrested Hamzeh Nabali and Hamzeh Disi and requested Raed Zghayyar, employee of the construction committee, for interrogation after they had confronted four settlers and prevented them from stealing stones, olives and soil from Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Four settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque through Dung Gate within the “foreign tourism” program and attempted to steal stones, olives and soil from Al-Aqsa Mosque near Al-Rahmeh Gate. Worshippers confronted the settlers with chants of “God is Great” and the settlers responded by assaulting them. Al-Aqsa guards interfered but were also assaulted, insulted and pushed.
On the other hand, the Israeli Supreme Court approved the appeal submitted by lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud against the sentence issued against Ala’ Al-Qaq and the child Mohammad Jarrah Naser from the village of Esawyeh.
Lawyer Mahmoud explained that the Supreme Court decided to reduce the prison sentence imposed on Ala’ Al-Qaq from 4 years to 3 years, and also reduced the prison sentence of Mohammad Naser from 14 months to 9 months; he was released on Thursday 28/7/2016.
