After 10 months under house arrest, Fadi Shallodi turns himself-in to serve a 100-day prison sentence
The 14-year old Fadi Hamzeh Shallodi will turn himself in on Sunday 14/8/2016 to Al-Maskobyeh prison to serve a 100-day prison sentence on charges of throwing stones towards the Israeli forces in Silwan.
Fadi’s mother explained that her son was arrested on 21/10/2015 on charges of throwing stones in Silwan and was released on conditions of house-arrest and deportation from his house to his uncle’s house. He was then allowed to return to his home but the prosecution and judges refused to reduce the house-arrest conditions imposed on him throughout the last months.
She also added that the Magistrate judge sentenced her son last June to 100 days of actual imprisonment, a suspended probation of 5 months for three years and a 2400-NIS fine. He was ordered to turn himself-in on Sunday 14/8/2016.
Fadi’s mother added that her son was banned from attending school last year and will not be able to attend school in the first months of the upcoming school year. She said: “The occupation deprived Fadi from the rights to education and movement as well as playing with his friends. He was also not allowed to stand outside the house which negatively affected his psyche.”
Fadi’s mother was also arrested and was accused of “incitement to throw stones”. After detaining her for a month and a half, she was released on condition of house arrest and is still waiting her trial. The public prosecution refused to reduce the house-arrest conditions imposed on her. ‘
