Pictures: A young Jerusalemite man is critically injured after stabbing two Israeli policemen

The 20-year old Ayman Hasan Kurd was critically injured on Monday morning after stabbing two Israeli policemen in the area of Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem.

The police said that a Palestinian young man attacked two policemen with a knife and injured them with moderate to serious injuries in their upper body parts.

The police explained that among the injured was a policewoman in her 30’s. She was critically injured and was transferred to Shaare Zedek hospital for treatment while the other policeman was moderately injured and was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital for treatment; he is in his mid 40’s.

The police added that the attacker was in his 20’s and was transferred to Hadassah (Esawyeh) hospital for treatment.

After the stabbing incident, the occupation authorities imposed a cordon on all the streets leading to Herod’s gate and all the roads adjacent to the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. Israeli forces were deployed in the streets and prevented vehicles from going through. They also closed the gates of the Old City and prevented people from entering or exiting.

The occupation authorities also obstructed the movement of students and employees and prevented them from reaching their schools and jobs. They assaulted the people present in Salah Eddin Street and pushed them before firing a sound grenade to disperse them.

The occupation forces forced the owners of commercial stores to close their shop and threatened to fine and arrest them.
