Prison sentences…

The District Court sentenced 21-year old John William Qaqish after convicting him of stabbing two settlers in the Old City of Jerusalem last May.

The lawyer of Prisoner’s Club, Mufeed Al-Hajj, explained that the District judges sentenced John William Qaqish to 9 years of actual imprisonment, a suspended probation of 3 years in addition to compensating the settlers.

Al-Hajj explained that the Israeli prosecution requested to imprison John for 20 years because the motive behind the stabbing was religious based on John’s confessions in the interrogation who expressed his frustration from the Israeli police assault on women from Ramlawi family near the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque; he is an active member of Fateh Movement and a member of Yasser’s sons group.
