Releasing a child after detaining and assaulting him…extending the arrest of another

The occupation police released on Sunday night 10-year old Adnan Jamal Amro and extended the arrest of 13-year old Mustafa Firas Abbasi until Monday on charges of throwing stones. Clashes also broke out in the village of Esawyeh after occupation forces raided the village and were deployed in its streets.

Arrest and release

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the forces arrested Adnan Amro and Mustafa Abbasi from Silwan on suspicious of throwing stones.

Amro family explained that the soldier arrested their son Adnan after he left his school in the neighborhood of Al-Thori in Silwan and took him to an open area where he was assaulted.

The family added that the soldiers surrounded Adnan and gathered around him. They pushed him to the ground and pointed their weapons towards him. They handcuffed him and sprayed him with pepper gas.

The family added that the child’s mother and brother were able to reach the area where he was detained but they could not approach as they were threatened by a settler who pointed him gun towards them.

Amro family said they will file a claim regarding the assault on their child Adnan.

Esawyeh

On the other hand, occupation soldiers raided the village of Esawyeh and were deployed in the streets. They randomly fired sound grenades towards the alleys and streets of the village.

The soldiers also assaulted and pushed the Jerusalemite activist and member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, Mohammad Abu Hummos.
