Arresting 10 Jerusalemites during clashes in Shu’fat Refugee Camp in Jerusalem
The Musta’ribeen (undercover police) unit supported by the occupation Special Forces arrested 10 Palestinians on Tuesday afternoon from Shu’fat Refugee Camp after they had raided the camp and were deployed in its streets.
The police said in a statement they arrested 10 Palestinians from Shu’fat Refugee Camp among them 4 people from the West Bank; they were arrested for illegally staying in Jerusalem.
Saleh Mheisen, Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer, explained that the Israeli forces arrested 5 Jerusalemite children, they are: Muntaser Abu Kamal (16), Rami Smoom (17), Karam Murrar (16), Sarhan Mohammad and Majd Khader (17).
Thaer Fasfoos, spokesman of Fateh movement in the Refugee Camp, explained that the forces raided the camp on Tuesday afternoon resulting in the breakout of limited clashes. He pointed out that raiding the camp is becoming a daily act for the Israeli forces.
Fasfoos added: “After the forces withdrew towards the military camp established at the entrance of the camp, Musta’ribeen personnel along with an Israeli force raided the refugee Camp and reached its entrance and set up an ambush to the young men and arrested 5 of them after severely beating them. Live bullets, sound grenades and tear-gas canister were randomly fired to disperse the demonstrators and preventing them from approaching the detainees.”
The Special Forces also raided a commercial store in the camp and arrested the owner and four employees under the pretext of illegally staying in the city of Jerusalem as they are from the West Bank.
