Pictures: A school day for the students of Al-Nukhba School in the occupation municipality’s courtyard
The students’ parents’ committee organized on Monday a “school day” in the courtyard of the occupation municipality to condemn closing Al-Nukhba School for the second consecutive week.
The students took classes in the courtyard of the municipality in West Jerusalem while sitting on the ground. They also raided various slogans requesting to reopen the school and their right to attend it.
The occupation authorities closed “Al-Nukhba Boys Elementary School” in the village of Sur Baher on 23/1/2017 claiming that the school is intending to teach the children material that contradicts with the existence of the state of Israel and follows the philosophy of Hamas movement based on intelligence information they had collected. The students’ parents’ committee in the school organized activities including a demonstration in front of the school and another in the Schools’ Street in Sur Baher and in the courtyard of the municipality.
The school is currently waiting for a session to be held at the Ministry of Education to discuss the appeal filed against the closure especially that the reasons are all confidential and unclear.
