June 17, 2017

The occupation authorities deported on Saturday young men and women that hold West Bank IDs from the city of Jerusalem and continued to close some of the streets of the city with iron barriers and prevented locals from walking in those streets.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation forces were heavily deployed in the streets of Jerusalem (especially in Herod’s Gate, Sultan Suleiman Street, Al-Musrara and Nablus Street) since Friday night and placed iron barriers to close those areas. They prevented vehicles and public transportation from passing through, and allowed pedestrians to walk after several hours of closing them.

The center added that the forces were stopping young men and women in the streets of Jerusalem and checking their IDs. People from the West Bank were deported on designated busses.

The forces also searched young men in a provocative way and attempted to prevent commercial stores from opening.

The forces imposed a siege on the city of Jerusalem after the Martyrdom of three young Palestinian men from the village of Der Abu Mash’al west of Ramallah after they carried out stabbing and shooting attacks in the city of Jerusalem.
