The injury of 21 worshippers while suppressing thousands in the area of Lions Gate

Twenty one Palestinians were injured while the occupation forces suppressed worshippers in the area of Lions Gate in Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that 21 Palestinians were injured by sound grenades and rubber bullets as well as being assaulted by the occupation forces in the area of Lions Gate. Among those, 15 were injured by rubber bullets in which 6 of them were transferred to the hospital while the rest were treated on field.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center was informed that the occupation forces fired sound grenades towards worshippers in the area of Lions Gate inside the Old City and used force to disperse them. It is noteworthy that hundreds of worshippers (young men, elderly and women) were in the area; they performed the Prayer in the area of Hutta Gate.

In the area of Lions Gate outside the Old City, the forces fired sound grenades and rubber bullets towards the worshippers after the Night Prayer and evacuated them from the area by force; they chased them to the neighborhood of Wad Al-Joz.

Palestinians continued to demonstrate and pray at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque refusing to enter the Mosque through the metal detectors placed by the occupation authorities. Worshippers prayed all five prayers in the areas of Lions Gate and Al-Majles Gate, and also performed the funeral Prayer to the soul of a deceased Jerusalemite outside Al-Aqsa after the family refused to enter through the metal detectors.

The head of the Jerusalem municipality conducted a tour near Lions Gate and occupation officers also conducted a tour at Al-Aqsa gates.
