Pictures: Opening the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and allowing everyone to enter…Noon and Afternoon Prayers outside the mosque
Thousands of worshippers performed the Friday Noon and Afternoon Prayers at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and in the streets of Jerusalem after the occupation authorities prevented those under the age of 50 from entering Al-Aqsa. Afterwards the authorities opened all of Al-Aqsa gates.
Firas Dibs, head of public relations and media at the Islamic Awqaf department, explained that all of Al-Aqsa gates were opened with no age limit on the entrance of Muslim worshippers.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that thousands of worshippers performed the Friday Noon Prayer in the streets of Jerusalem and at Al-Aqsa gates. Prayers were held in Wadi Al-Joz, Al-Sowaneh, Ras Al-Amoud, Salah Eddin Street, Damascus Gate, Herod’s gate and Lions Gate as young men insisted on reaching the closest point to Al-Aqsa.
In the neighborhood of Wadi Hilweh, the forces fired a sound grenade towards a group of worshippers while a female settler raised the Israeli flag in front of a group of worshippers to provoke them; the police arrested her.
Young men demonstrated in the neighborhood of Wadi Al-Joz and chanted slogans refusing the Israeli closures.
The forces arrested a young man from Wadi Al-Joz.
In the area of Lions Gate when young men were gathering after being prevented from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the Afternoon Prayer, the occupation forces randomly fired sound grenades towards them to evacuate them from the area but they insisted on praying in the area; one young man was arrested.
The detainees are: Malek Wajih Baseet (17) and Anas Matour.
