The occupation forces injured on Monday several students from the village of Esawyeh with wounds and bruises in addition to putting them in a state of fear and terror during a raid on the schools’ street in the village.
Mohammad Abu Hummos, member of follow-up committee in the village of Esawyeh, explained that 10 students between 6-19 years were injured by shrapnel of sound grenades and rubber bullets. Injuries were in the face, limbs and abdominal and the injured were transferred to hospitals and medical clinics for treatment. Also, dozens of students suffered a state of fear and terror due to the occupation forces’ raid on the schools’ street in the village while they were leaving their schools.
Abu Hummos added that one of the injured was transferred on Monday night from Al-Maqased hospital to Shaare Zedek hospital; he suffered a critical injury in the waist.
Abu Hummos also said the students’ parents’ committee in the village of Esawyeh decided to suspend education in all of the village’s schools indefinitely in refusal of the daily raids on the village that take place while students are heading to their schools or while leaving them.
Abu Hummos added that a meeting was held on Monday night in the participation of the village’s committees and officials where they all emphasized on the importance of suspending education in the village’s schools to put an end to the occupation’s policy of daily raids on the village and continuous presence in the schools’ street where students are targeted with grenades and rubber bullets for no reason.
During the meeting, they confirmed that the occupation forces deliberately raid the village under unjustified pretexts in order to put pressure on the locals and abuse them especially students.
Abu Hummos added that the possibility of taking escalatory steps in the coming days has been discussed in case daily raids and targeting students continue in the village.
