Preventing a press conference in Jerusalem and arresting three activists
The Israeli occupation forces arrested three Jerusalemites after banning a press conference was banned entitled "Isn’t it time for the world to hear the cry of Jerusalem!" The press conference was organized to condemn Trump's decision to declare Jerusalem the capital of the State of Israel.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center learned that the occupation forces arrested Abdel Latif Gheith and Hani Essawi from the National Forces in Jerusalem and Ahmed El Safadi, director of Elia Youth Media Foundation, in front of the American House in Jerusalem and transferred them for interrogation.
The Center also learned that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the headquarters of the Dar Hotel in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem and stormed into the conference hall where the conference was scheduled to be held at 11:00 a.m. and was organized by the Cultural House Foundation and Elia Media Foundation. Intelligence personnel stormed the hotel before the conference and ordered everyone to leave the room, while a member of the intelligence photographed the hall and the banners of the conference and the names of the speakers during which occupation Special Forces were stationed at the gate of the hotel and prevented anyone from entering.
Witnesses also reported that the organizers of the conference moved to the American House to hold the conference, but the intelligence pursued them and arrested three of them, and also checked the identities of some of the presenters and journalists.
