March 18, 2018

A young Palestinian man was martyred after being shot dead by Israeli soldiers in Al-Wad Street in the Old City of Jerusalem after carrying out a stabbing attack against an Israeli guard.
According to Palestinian sources, the Martyr is Abdel Rahman Bani Fadel, 28, from Aqraba village near Nablus.

Eyewitnesses explained to Wadi Hilweh Information Center that three members of the Israeli occupation forces arrived from Bab Al-Majles, one of the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and opened fire at the Palestinian youth only few meters away from where they were standing under the pretext of stabbing an Israeli guard in Al-Wad Street.

Specialist crews conducted tests for the young man, who was left on the ground for nearly two hours before his body was transferred and detained.

Witnesses added that the Israeli occupation forces closed Al-Wad Street completely and placed iron barriers at all entrances and roads and prevented access to the scene of the incident. The Israeli occupation forces also closed the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem, and prevented entry or exit, and subjected many of the young people for provocative physical searches.

Ambulance crews transferred the guard, who was described as seriously injured, for treatment and announced his death later in the evening.
