Releasing the youth Asad Abulhawa on condition of house-arrest
The District judge decided last Thursday to release the 14-year-old, Asad Al-Din Abulhawa, on condition of house-arrest until completing the legal procedures against him.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center’s lawyer, Khaldoun Nijem, said that the Public Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against his client including charges of "throwing a Molotov cocktail and causing a fire".
He added that the judge agreed to release his client on condition of house-arrest.
The information center explained that the boy was arrested a week ago after being kidnapped from Al-Maqased Hospital in the village of Al-Tur. He was transferred to Hadassah hospital after suffering burns in the upper part of his body in the "back, shoulder and hand". He remained under treatment for the past period and the Israeli authorities extended his arrest during absentia sessions.
