September 18, 2018

The 26-year old Mohammad Yousef Sha’ban Alayan from Qalandia Refugee Camp north of Jerusalem was shot dead by the occupation soldiers in Al-Musrara Street in the city, under the pretext of attempting to stab a settler in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, three members of the Israeli occupation forces fired indiscriminately at the youth, and immediately killing him. The forces then prevented the Red Crescent crew from reaching the Martyr.

The Israeli police said that the young man tried to stab a settler while he was walking in Al-Musrara area, and their members opened fire towards him.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center reported that the occupation forces stormed Al-Musrara Street in large numbers, closed the area where the Martyr’s body was detained with red tape and police vehicles, forcibly removed the residents from the area and forced the owners of the surrounding shops to close their shops and confiscated some surveillance cameras.

The center added that the Israeli occupation authorities detained the body of the Martyr for about 3 hours on the ground, during which they took his fingerprints and conducted various tests, and then moved him from the area.

Due to the random bullets fired at the Palestinian Martyr, bullets hit a parked vehicle and the front of a shop.

Immediately after the shooting, the Israeli occupation forces closed the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem and prevented entry and exit.
