Hashimeh family self-demolish its house in Silwan
The occupation municipality forced Hashimeh family to self-demolish its house in the village of Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit, 20 years ago.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center / Silwan explained that Johar Hashimeh and his brother Murad, started the demolition of their homes since the morning hours following an order by the municipality, which gave them until the 10thof December to execute the demolition.
Johar Hashimeh told the center: "20 years, and we are trying to license the apartments, we paid the fines of NIS 61 thousand, in addition to the expenses of continuous follow-up in the courts, until the final decision was issued last June to self-demolish the house, or the municipality will demolish it and impose new fines on us."
Hashimeh pointed out that the building has an area of 140 square meters, where 14 people lived.
