Demolishing and confiscating the contents of a bricks factory…arrests…releases
On Wednesday, the Nature and Parks Authority crews carried out the demolition of two rooms and confiscated the contents of a commercial facility in the neighborhood of Wadi Al-Joz and Silwan, while the occupation forces arrested two Jerusalemites.
Wadi Al-Joz... demolition and confiscation
The Nature and Parks Authority crews, accompanied by the occupation forces, stormed a brick factory in Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood belonging to several families, and proceeded to confiscate its contents, “equipment, machinery, bricks, and stones”, on the pretext of establishing it on a land allocated for “national parks”, where construction is prohibited.
The owners of the factory explained that the municipal crews stormed the factory and demolished a room built on it, and confiscated bulldozers, forklifts, tractors and various mechanisms, as well as stones and bricks, and delivered summonses to investigate the affected people, and told them that they must pay the “fee to transport equipment from the land."
The owners of the land added that the occupation authorities cordoned off the entire area and carried out the demolition and confiscation ahead of the court session scheduled for early August to consider the decision to demolish and evacuate.
They pointed out that the occupation authorities confiscated vehicles parked outside the factory, on the pretext of being used for loading and delivering bricks.
Dozens of families depend on the brick factory for their livelihood, and estimated their losses at more than half a million shekels.
Demolishing a room
The Nature and Parks Authority crews demolished an agricultural room in the neighborhood of Wadi Al-Rababeh in Silwan, built from tin plates, owned by Ismail and Omar Sumrein, and has been in existence for 3 years.
Demolition…and freezing a house demolition order
The occupation municipality demolished the concrete floor of the Da’na family house in Silwan.
Da’na family had demolished their homes on the site last month, and the municipal bulldozers came and demolished the floor.
The occupation municipality stormed the home of Iyad Abu Sbeih’s family in Silwan, and emptied some of its contents and surrounded it completely to carry out the demolition, while his lawyer Sami Arshid was able to freeze the demolition.
Abu Sbeih explained that the occupation municipality's crews stormed his house without warning.
Arrests and incursions
The occupation forces arrested the official of the construction department in Al-Aqsa Mosque, engineer Bassam Al-Hallaq, from Al-Aqsa.
The occupation forces also arrested Khalil Al-Tafakji, director of the maps department at the Arab Studies Association of the Orient House, after storming and searching the office in Dahiyat Al-Barid, north of Jerusalem, and confiscated some of the contents of the office.
The occupation forces arrested Judge Iyad Al-Abbasi and the youth Jamil Al-Abbasi, after they stormed their homes in Hosh Al-Mukhtar in Silwan.
The forces also arrested a woman from Al-Wad Street in the Old City of Jerusalem.
The judge extended the arrest of Mohammad Ghaseb Obaid, Mohammad Shaban Obaid, and Mohammad Marwan Obaid until Friday, as explained by lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud.
The police released Ahmed Abu Roumi and Shadi Kleib on condition of a two-day house arrest.
