August 24, 2020

On Monday evening, Mohammad Amira started self-demolishing his house in the village of Sur Baher, by a decision of the occupation municipality and the Ministry of Interior, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Ali Amira explained that his father built the house in 1992, and at that time the municipality issued a demolition decision, so he buried the house with dirt.In 2017, he tried to repair and rebuild it, so the Ministry of Interior issued a demolition order, and recently he was given 10 days to implement the decision, otherwise he must pay 300-600 thousand shekels in demolition fees and cost of municipal crews.

Amiraadded that he tried to license the house, but the municipality informed him that it was forbidden to build on the site.

On the other hand, the occupation forces arrested 4 young men from Lions Gate and Hutta Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces arrested Omar Odeh, Ibrahim Al-Natsheh, Yousef Al-Shawish, and Adel Al-Ajlouni.
