At midnight, the occupation forces suppressed the funeral of the Martyr Nour Jamal Shqeir, with sound grenades, upon their arrival in Al-Sowaneh neighborhood in Jerusalem, and prevented the mourners from walking, and dispersed them towards the village of Al-Tur.

The occupation authorities deployed their forces of "officers, special forces, police, intelligence, water cannon vehicles, and cavalry teams" in the streets of Jerusalem and the roads leading to the Bab al-Rahma cemetery and Lions Gate, and set up barriers at the entrance of the road leading to Lions Gate, preventing the passage of vehicles and pedestrians.

Wadi Hilweh Information Center stated that the occupation authorities handed over the body of the martyr to his family at the police headquarters in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, then the family transferred him to Al-Maqased Hospital, where he was shrouded and a farewell look and prayers were given inside the hospital, from which the funeral began towards the Bab al-Rahma cemetery.

The center added that the mourners walked from Al-Maqased Hospital, and upon their arrival at the entrance to Al-Sowaneh neighborhood near the "Beit Urot" settlement, the occupation forces intercepted them, prevented the funeral procession and fired sound grenades at the mourners, and followed them towards Al-Tur village.

The center stated that the occupation forces tightened entry procedures to the cemetery, checked the identities of family members, and confirmed the names of the participants and their ID numbers before allowing them to enter to participate in the burial of the martyr, and prevented them from taking their mobile phones to the cemetery.

The center stated that the occupation forces arrested the youths: Ihab Shqeir, Abed Shqeir, Hamouda Siam, Maher Siam, and Ahmed Siam.

Dr. Jamal Shqeir - the martyr’s uncle - said: “Nour was wrongfully killed, no evidence of the statements and allegations of the occupation. Eyewitnesses said that he had raised his hand and stopped his vehicle several meters from the checkpoint, and 6 of the occupation forces followed him (three soldiers and 3 guards), and shot at the vehicle and towards him."

Shqeir added that he saw a single bullet near the heart of the martyr.

He also pointed out the measures and restrictions that were taken during the funeral, where the mourners were suppressed, then the restrictions on entering the cemetery, where only 20 people were admitted after confirming their identity numbers and names.
