Dozens of Palestinians were injured, on Tuesday, during the suppression and confrontations in several areas in the city of Jerusalem.
The occupation forces assaulted dozens of Palestinian boys, women and young men while they were in the Old City of Jerusalem at the intersection of Khan Al-Zeit Market and Al-Wad Street, where they chased them and attacked them with batons, pepper gas and beatings, and arrested a number of young men.
In Damascus Gate square, the Israeli occupation forces suppressed a demonstration in support of the Gaza Strip, which marched through the square, with bombs, rubber bullets and wastewater, and beatings and arrests.
The forces confiscated the Palestinian flags that were raised during the demonstration, then the pursuit of the young men extended to Al-Musrara Market, Nablus Street and Sultan Suleiman Street, all the way to Herods Gate area.
In the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, the forces suppressed the demonstration that took place on the main street in the neighborhood, and the forces heavily threw sound grenades and rubber bullets into the area, and the cavalry teams pursued them inside the neighborhood's streets.
The forces targeted homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, “western part of the neighborhood” with grenades and rubber bullets.
Mohammad al-Kiswani explained that he and his family members were present inside the house, and they heard noises outside. His daughter and son went to the gate of the house to see what was going on, and he followed them, and as soon as they opened the door "the door to the outside yard," there were 4 soldiers opposite to the door "about 4 meters away”, and without reason and without any warning, they fired rubber bullets at them, he said:" My daughter Jana had turned around to enter the house, and a rubber bullet hit her directly in her back, she fell on the ground, then another bullet was fired, and hit him in his leg."
Al-Kiswani added: "I managed to enter the square and closed the door, and through its openings, sound grenades were thrown in the yard of the house. The soldiers wanted to hit us for no reason. They want to deport us, 40 families in the" western part of the neighborhood "are threatened by the most serious evacuation.”
In the Shu’fat refugee camp, violent confrontations broke out from the afternoon hours until the evening, and the forces fired live bullets and grenades and sprayed wastewater intensively and targeted a school inside the refugee camp.
Night clashes also broke out in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood in the town of Silwan, and the village of Al-Tur.
44 injuries
The Jerusalem Red Crescent said that 44 injuries were recorded in Damascus Gate, Sheikh Jarrah and Shu’fat refugee camp, of which 18 were taken for treatment in the hospital, and a live bullet wound in the thigh was transferred from Shu’fat refugee camp to the hospital.
The Red Crescent added among the injuries there were 34 cases in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, 17 of which were hospitalized.
Arrests
Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the forces carried out field arrests from the streets of the city of Jerusalem, including: Sabreen Jamjoom, Ahmed Ishtay, Anas Mir’ee, Suhaib Abu Saleh, Mohammad Kamleh, Yassin Sbeih, Naji Abbas, Adli Najib, Mohammad Assaileh and Khalil Tarhouni. The forces also arrested a young man from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
