On Thursday, Fouad Atallah Siam “leaked” an apartment and a plot of land in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood in Silwan, to the Elad settlement association.
Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that a group of settlers stormed the property of the sons of the late Ahmed Siam, which is in the middle of two settlement outposts in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood, and closed its gate after welding it. As the locals and heirs of Ahmed Siam saw the settlers inside the property, they damaged the gate in an attempt to evict the settlers, and as a result, skirmishes erupted between the two parties, and the settlers sprayed gas at the residents, and the police came to the site and informed the heirs that the settlers had purchased the property and had the right to stay in it, and any objection to that would be made by going to the courts.
The center - from the heirs of the house - explained that the heirs learned about the “leak” on Wednesday afternoon, after the wife of the named Fouad Atallah Siam was summoned to a lawyer for the presence of a “will from her husband.” When she arrived with her brother to the lawyer, the administration of the Elad Association and its lawyer were in the office, and informed the wife that she has a sum of money of "280" thousand shekels" remaining from the value of the property's price, which her husband sold before his death, and she was also informed that her husband sold another apartment in the neighborhood.
The heirs explained that Elad's lawyer showed a recording of Siam showing him receiving part of the money from Elad after leaking the property.
The heirs added to the center that the settlers' lawyer informed her that it was possible to evict the property since her husband's death - according to the agreement signed between the two parties - but the Elad Association postponed that.
The center pointed out that the apartment consists of two rooms and its facilities, and a plot of land of 400 square meters, and it was rented to a family several months ago.
Naseem Siam –one of the heirs - said: "The so-called Fouad Siam sold what he did not own, as he is one of the heirs of the late Ahmed Siam, and the family will go to the court to invalidate the sale.”
