July 18, 2021

On Sunday, hundreds of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in commemoration of the so-called "destruction of the Temple", amid depriving and preventing Muslims from entering Al-Aqsa during periods of incursions, in addition to attacks on worshipers and forcibly evicting them.

The Department of Islamic Endowments stated that 1,520 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, through the Dung Gate, under heavy security from the occupation forces, which spread in Al-Aqsa squares.

The director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Omar Al-Kiswani, explained that the occupation forces stormed Al-Aqsa after dawn, forcibly evacuated the worshipers present in it, and fired rubber bullets and grenades towards them, and during that time, and attacked them with batons and evacuated them from the squares.

The occupation forces surrounded dozens of young men inside Al-Qibali prayer hall, closed its doors with chains, and assaulted those present by spraying gas and throwing grenades at them, then allowed settlers to storm it in large numbers, and provided them with full protection to perform their public prayers in the mosque.

For more than 9 hours, entry to Al-Aqsa was prevented, with the exception of employees of the Islamic Endowment and the elderly, while young men and women were prevented from entering, and they performed the Noon prayer at the gates of Al-Aqsa, and chanted “God is Great” for hours, despite the repression and continuous persecution during their presence.

The forces deliberately evacuated the gates of Al-Aqsa from those present, by beating, pushing and arresting them, to allow the settlers to perform their prayers in the area.

The occupation forces carried out arrests from Al-Aqsa Squares, the Old City roads, and the streets of Jerusalem.

In the evening, the occupation forces suppressed the Palestinians in the area of Damascus Gate, to secure the settlers' marches on one side, and prevent their presence and sitting in the area on the other hand.

In the village of Al-Tur, the occupation forces arrested Adnan Abu Al-Hawa.
