July 31, 2021

On Saturday, the occupation forces arrested two young Jerusalemites, and suppressed a demonstration in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, with waste water, and assaulted the demonstrators with beating.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the occupation forces beat and pushed the participants, as soon as they chanted slogans in support of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and forcibly removed them from the entrance to the neighborhood, towards the main street, then sprayed sewage water in the place and followed the demonstrators from one place to another to drive them away from the area.

The center added that the forces arrested two young men, while they were at the entrance to the neighborhood.

The center explained that in the evening, the forces assaulted a group of people in the neighborhood, forcing them to leave it, and forcing the residents to be inside their homes, during which they stormed some houses and expelled those who were "non-residents."

Next Monday, the Israeli Supreme Court will hold a hearing to consider the case of the families of the "Al-Kurd, Iskafi, Al-Ja’ouni, and Al-Qasim", who are under threat of eviction and displacement from their homes in favor of the settlers.
