On Wednesday, the occupation municipality’s bulldozers demolished two homes in Silwan and Jabal Al-Mukabber, under the pretext of “building without a permit.”
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the occupation forces stormed the Al-Bashir neighborhood in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber in the morning, surrounded the house of Mohammad Bashir and demolished it, then the crews and the bulldozer headed to the Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan and demolished the home of the Jalajel family.
Jabal Al-Mukabber
The municipality’s bulldozers demolished the house of Mohammad Bashir. His father explained that the family built the house five years ago, and a fine of 50,000 shekels was imposed on it. He was able to postpone and freeze the demolition until a final decision was made and the demolition was implemented on Wednesday morning.
Bashir added: "We built the house on the land adjacent to our house, and Mohammad was supposed to live in it after 3 months. He is getting married and was preparing his house to live in it, and it has been fully prepared, but today the bulldozers demolished the house and the dream."
After the demolition was completed, clashes erupted between the forces and the youths, and the forces fired tear gas and rubber bullets in the area.
Silwan
The municipality’s bulldozers demolished the home of the Jalajel family. Fakhri Abu Diab, a spokesman for the Silwan Lands and Real Estate Defense Committee, explained that the municipality demolished the house of Basel Jalajel, which was established about 3 years ago, explaining that Basel had been living in the house with his pregnant wife for several months.
The demolition threatens the entire Al-Bustan neighborhood, in order to build the "King's Garden" on its ruins.
