Silwan…the municipality orders a Jerusalemite family to demolish its home
On Friday, Mahmoud Abu Diab self-demolished his house in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood, in order to avoid paying fines imposed by the occupation municipality.
Abu Diab, 78, explained that the municipality issued the final demolition decision for his house, and the lawyer informed him of the decision, forcing him to demolish it in order to avoid paying a "fine/demolition fee."
Abu Diab added that his house in which he lives with his wife has been in existence for 21 years, and the prosecutions and violations began since 2009, imposing a fine of 50 thousand, then 28 thousand, and a third violation of 22 thousand shekels, "which he pays until today - monthly installments".
Abu Diab pointed out that the municipality refused to license the building,
