Prison sentences, arrests, house-arrest and administrative detention decisions
March 30, 2022

On Wednesday, the occupation forces carried out separate arrests in Jerusalem, while issuing "house arrest" and "administrative detention" decisions for freed prisoners.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center-Jerusalem stated that, for the third consecutive time, the occupation authorities renewed the house arrest of the freed prisoner, Yaqoub Abu Asab, in his place of residence in the Al-Sowaneh neighborhood, for a period of 3 months, and specified the roads and streets through which he could leave East Jerusalem.

The authorities also recently renewed the "travel ban" decision imposed on Abu Asab, and he pointed out that he has been banned from traveling since 2020.

The occupation authorities also transferred the freed prisoner Amir Zghayyar to administrative detention for a period of 3 months, after his arrest on Tuesday while on his way to Hebron city.

The young man was released early this year, after an 8-month administrative detention.

Arrests

Eyewitnesses from Al-Aqsa Mosque reported that the occupation forces arrested 3 young men from Al-Aqsa and physically assaulted two of them.

They also arrested Rami Al-Fakhouri from the Old City of Jerusalem, and arrested the two young men, Abdullah Siam and his brother Obada, after storming their homes in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood in Silwan.

On Wednesday morning, the forces arrested Ahmed Abu Roumi after storming his house in the village of Issawiya.

They also arrested Moaz Tarwa and Mo’men Tarwa, from "Machaneh Yehuda Market", and opened fire towards them.

Late Tuesday evening, the forces arrested the boy, Tamer Abu Sharkh, while he was crossing through Al-Zaytoona Checkpoint, and the judge extended his detention until next Sunday.

The young man, Faisal Louay Obaid, was sentenced to 54 months in prison.4
