Issawiya…Storming the house of prisoners Derbas and placing a summon to follow up with the municipality
December 7, 2022

On Wednesday, joint crews from the municipality and the occupation forces stormed the house of the two captive brothers, Hussein and Ahmed Derbas, in the village of Issawiya, in Jerusalem.

The mother of the two captives, Derbas, explained that the municipality crews stormed the house this morning, and hung on it a "summon to follow upwith the municipality" under the pretext of a violation in the construction, and explained that the house had existed for 30 years.

Derbas added: "For years, we have been waiting for permits for construction and expansion, and for approval of the structural map submitted to the municipality. This building is very old, and today's raid is a punishment and revenge on the family."

Two days ago, the occupation forces arrested the young man, Ahmed Derbas, and transferred him to administrative detention for 4 months, while his brother Hussein has been in captivity for 20 years, and he is serving a 25-year sentence.

For his part, a member of the Follow-up Committee in Issawiya, Mohammad Abu Al-Hummus, explained that various crews from the municipality, the tax authorities, and the occupation forces carried out a campaign against the village of Issawiya, by distributing demolition notices and summons to follow up with the municipality or tax crews, confiscating goods, imposing fines, in addition to wiping graffiti off the walls.
