February 13, 2023

On Monday, the occupation forces carried out separate arrests in the towns and streets of Jerusalem.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem stated that the occupation forces and intelligence carried out arrests around the clock from the towns of Al-Tur, Silwan, Jabal Al-Mukabber, and Shu’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem.

Among the detainees were: Naeem Ashayer, Youssef Abu Al-Hawa, Mohammad Mheisen, Mahdi Jaber, Yazan Shweiki, Khaled Zaytoun, Ahmed Tarwa, Mustafa Al-Qaq, Mu’taz Abu Diab, and Ayman Bashir. The forces also summoned the secretary of the Fatah movement in Silwan, Ahmed Al-Ghoul, and a member of the Fateh in Jerusalem, Ahed Risheq, for investigation.

The center stated that a number of detainees were released, while the detention of others was extended until the end of this week, and some until tomorrow.

The center stated that the forces carried out random arrests from the vicinity of Shu’fat refugee camp, following the "stabbing attack that took place inside a bus." Eyewitnesses reported that the forces arrested 3 young men.

They also arrested 4 members of the Al-Zalbani family, "the family of the child accused of carrying out a stabbing attack inside the bus."

They also arrested the child, Ja’far Mtour, after storming the Al-Qibli prayer hall in Al-Aqsa, on charges of "carrying out a stabbing of a settler in the Old City of Jerusalem."

The occupation forces also continued to pursue the released prisoners, by imposing financial fines on them under the pretext of "receiving money from the Palestinian Authority as a reward for them to carry out terrorist acts," according to the decision issued by the Minister of Defense in the occupation government, Yoav Gallant. During the past hours, the forces stormed the homes of released prisoners in Issawiya, and confiscated money and a vehicle from them.
