Mohammad Mahmoud, a lawyer for the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, said that the handover of the body took place under harsh procedures and conditions from the police, by limiting the number of participants in the funeral, as the number did not exceed 30 people, and placing a “bracelet” on their hands to “count the numbers,” and confiscating their phones.
Lawyer Mohammad Mahmoud explained that the police prevented flags and banners from being raised during the funeral, and also stipulated that the delivery of the body be at the place of burial, and it was forbidden to transfer it to the hospital for shrouding and washing it, and it will all take place inside the cemetery, and pointed out that it imposed on the family 10 thousand shekels to ensure "the implementation of the conditions."
The center's lawyer pointed out that the ongoing follow-up of the shooting file against Abu Rammouz, and the Supreme Court's approval of handing over the body indicates that the evidence about his participation in the confrontations in Silwan is weak, especially since one of the boys who was with him and was injured in the same incident, was released after several days.
Lawyer Mahmoud explained that he submitted a petition to the Supreme Court last March, requesting that the body of the martyr Abu Rammouz be handed over for burial, and the Supreme Court approved the petition.
