On Friday, the Jerusalemite Ibrahim Abu Tair self-demolished his house in the village of "Um Tuba", by decision of the occupation municipality, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Aziz Abu Tair, the mayor of Umm Tuba village, explained that the municipality issued the final demolition decision 4 days ago, refusing to postpone or freeze it.
Aziz Abu Tair explained that a "project to organize 90 dunums of the lands of the village of Umm Tuba" was presented to the municipality, and Ibrahim Abu Tair's house is part of the project, but the municipality insisted on the demolition decision.
Aziz Abu Tair explained that the house has existed for 15 years, and its area is about 90 square meters. Ibrahim and his wife live in it, and they are expecting twins within weeks.
Abu Tair pointed out that the municipality imposed about 250,000 shekels on Ibrahim for "building violations."
