August 18, 2023

The body of the Jerusalemite martyr Ahmed Abu Sneineh was buried after midnight in the "Yusufiya cemetery/Lions Gate” in the city of Jerusalem.

Dozens of Palestinians performed the prayer for the martyr Abu Sneineh in Al-Ghazali Square at Lions Gate, then carried the body on their shoulders towards the cemetery.

Chants of “God is Great” were chanted by the participants in addition to chants for the martyr and for Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem.

The occupation forces were deployed on Lions Gate road and inside the Bab al-Rahma cemetery and at Lions Gate, before the body arrived from Al-Maqased Hospital, and during the prayer and the burial process.

The martyrdom of the young man Ahmed Abu Sneineh was announced late Thursday evening, as a result of injuries he sustained two years ago during the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the attack on the worshipers during the Al-Taraweeh prayer in 2021.

The family confirmed that their son suffered since his injury from medical negligence and a delay in providing him with the necessary treatment, which led to the deterioration of his health and his death.

Ahmed Abu Sneineh was targeted with a rubber bullet on 7/5/2021, "25th of Ramadan", during the attack by the forces on the worshipers after the storming of Al-Aqsa in conjunction with the Al-Taraweeh prayer, causing him fractures in his skull and the loss of his left eye, and since that date he has been suffering from complications from the injury, especially from severe headaches.

At the beginning of last July, the martyr's health deteriorated suddenly, and in a conversation with his wife at the time, she explained that the onset of the symptoms was when he suddenly suffered a convulsion while he was at home, and he was taken to the Hadassah "Issawiya" hospital, and after the examinations, it was found that he was infected with a germ in the brain. And due to the deterioration of his health, he was transferred to Hadassah "Ein Kerem" hospital.

His wife added: "Ahmed arrived at the hospital in a difficult state of health, due to a weak respiratory system, and the doctors decided to connect him to the respiratory system and anesthetize him, and some of his organs were damaged, including his kidneys and liver, in addition to blood clots."

Over the past weeks, the health condition of the young man Abu Sneineh has deteriorated until his martyrdom on Thursday.
