Suppressing worshippers…injuries and arrests from Al-Aqsa Mosque
On Friday, the occupation forces suppressed the worshipers with live bullets, rubber bullets, and beatings, in the Lions Gate area of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The events of Friday began, coinciding with the arrival of the worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the prayer, during which the forces stationed at the Lions Gate arrested one of the worshipers, "an elderly man", and checked his identity, detained him at the place, and then assaulted him, "according to eyewitnesses."
They added: "The worshipers chanted the takbeers in rejection of the assault that one of the worshipers was subjected to, and demanded to give him his identity card and allow him to enter Al-Aqsa, because there was no reason for his detention. During that, the worshipers were surprised by being attacked, beaten and pushed, and then fired live bullets in the air."
The witnesses added: "The forces formed a chain at the Lions Gate, and while a squad stormed it, they prevented the worshipers from entering or leaving Al-Aqsa, and beat them and used rubber bullets."
Abdul Majeed Taha, from “Al-Amal Paramedics Association”, explained that the association's staff dealt with 4 injuries, including a woman's injury, in addition to a head injury and another to the chest.
The Red Crescent said that its crews dealt with an injured woman who suffered fractures due to a grenade.
The witnesses added that the occupation forces carried out arrests from the Lions Gate area "before the prayer", as well as after the prayer, after the worshipers left Al-Aqsa.
On the other hand, the occupation forces arrested a young man after he was arrested in the area of Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem.
The recordings showed that the forces arrested the young man for inspection, then pointed their weapons at him, and during that they fired live bullets into the air.
According to the recordings, one of the forces attacked the young man and beat him, then arrested him and took him to Al-Qishla Police Station in the Old City of Jerusalem.
