Day 10: Al-Aqsa Flood Operation in Jerusalem
October 17, 2023

On the tenth day of “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation, sirens and explosions sounded in the city of Jerusalem, and the occupation authorities continued their siege imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, and intensified arrests, summonses, and threats “under the pretext of incitement.”

The occupation authorities imposed their strict restrictions on the entry of worshipers to Al-Aqsa, by randomly preventing the elderly and young people (males and females), in a procedure that has been followed every day since the start of “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation. It is noteworthy that the forces are tightening entry procedures to Al-Aqsa and the Old City in conjunction with prayer times.

The occupation forces subject any young man on his way to the Old City to a physical search and search of his vehicle or motorcycle, and a thorough search of his luggage and bags. They search the young men against the walls and conduct field investigations with them.

For 10 days, the forces have continued to prevent people from sitting or being present in the courtyard and steps of Damascus Gate. As for the observation rooms set up at the entrance to Damascus Gate Square, they are places for interrogation, assault, and abuse of young men and women.

Dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the number of intruders reached 164 extremists.

The raids on the towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem continued, and in the village of Jabal al-Mukabber, the forces stormed Al-Madares Street, raided Hosh Aweisat, attacked the residents, and arrested the young man, Islam Aweisat.
After midnight, violent confrontations broke out in the Shu’fat refugee camp, after large numbers of forces stormed it.
