The Jerusalemite child, Malik Ghorab, 13 years old, was beaten and abused during his arrest last Friday.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem documented the details of what happened with the child Ghorab from the moment of his first arrest, his detention in the police car, his transfer to the police station, and the prevention of providing him with the necessary treatment and examinations.

The boy, Malik Ghorab, explained in an interview with him that he was arrested last Friday afternoon, while walking with his friend in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, where they were surprised to be chased by the Special Forces, then attacked and arrested.

He said: “At the first moment of my arrest, the soldiers surrounded me, and one of them fired a rubber bullet directly at my leg, then assaulted and beat me. They blindfolded me, tied my hands, and put me in the car. During that time, they beat me, then one of them put the gun in my mouth and threatened to kill me, then one of them hit me on the neck with a baton."

He continued what happened to him: “All the way until I arrived at the Salah al-Din Street police station, I was beaten. Upon my arrival at the police station, I was taken into the bathroom and they continued to beat me. They deliberately knocked the phone to the ground, then forced me to pick it up with my mouth while I was tied.”

He said: “Continuous beating, with pistol butts and batons, on my back, chest and feet, suffocation and pushing.”

The police brought an ambulance, as he was suffering from pain in his thigh from the rubber bullet, pain and blood from his mouth, and wounds on his feet, but no treatment or examination was provided, and the investigator informed him that the Al-Maskobyeh doctor would examine him, but that did not happen.

He added: "I was transferred to investigation... threats, insults, intimidation, and beatings. Then I was transferred to the Al-Maskobyeh center. I was beaten in a room and in the corridors of the center. One of them hit me in the mouth, causing one of my teeth to break."

Malek Ghorab continued that the police brought him into a room with the Israeli flag on the wall, and forced him to hold the flag, and they photographed him and mocked him. One of them said: “We want to show Hamas and the whole world will laugh at you.”

The boy, Ghorab, was released last Tuesday “after being arrested for 4 days,” and house arrest was imposed on him for 10 days. Ghorab pointed out that the forces threatened him not to tell the judge about “the details of his beating and abuse.”
