Day 26: Al-Aqsa Flood Operation in the city of Jerusalem
November 1, 2023

On the 26th day of “Al-Aqsa Flood Operation”, a comprehensive commercial strike took place in the city of Jerusalem, to mourn the souls of the “Jabalia refugee camp” massacre in the Gaza Strip, while the forces carried out raids into the homes of prisoners and freed prisoners, during which they confiscated property and money. The siege imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City continued, and crews from the Ministry of Education and the Municipality stormed the Ibrahimiya School in Jerusalem.

A campaign against prisoners and freed prisoners

In the hours before dawn, the occupation authorities, “intelligence, police, and special forces, accompanied by representatives from the Ministry of the Army and the Judiciary,” began their campaign against the prisoners and freed prisoners, by storming their homes or the homes of their families in the towns and neighborhoods of the city of Jerusalem, and handed them “seizure decisions,” signed from the Secretary of the Army under the “so-called Anti-Terrorism Law of 2019” under the pretext of “supporting terrorism.”

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the raids included most areas in the city of Jerusalem, "Beit Hanina, Silwan, Al-Tur, Sur Baher, Jabal Al-Mukabber, and the Old City."

The center added that the forces carried out a broad and meticulous search of homes and their courtyards, and during that, the forces deliberately vandalized the contents of the house, destroying many of them, and also tore up the Qur’an in some homes.

The center explained that during today's campaign, the forces confiscated 10 vehicles, including “taxis,” in addition to money and gold jewelry, and forced some women and girls to hand over “gold pieces” to them.

The center monitored the storming of the homes of: MP Ahmed Attoun, Hisham Al-Bashiti, Osama Al-Rajabi, Mohammad Al-Bakri, Noah Ghazzawi, Ismail Al-Karaki, Abdel-Jawad Ghazzawi, Obada Najib, Hamza Al-Abbasi, Bassam Idris, Mohammad Al-Shawish, Ziad Abu Hadwan, Hassan Amira, Iyad Amira, Abdullah Al-Hadra, Faisal Shabaneh, Anas Abu Mayaleh, Ahmed Srour, and Ahmed Abulhawa.

Storming the Ibrahimiya School

Joint crews from the Ministry of Education and the Municipality stormed the Ibrahimiya School in the Al-Sowaneh neighborhood in Jerusalem, searched and examined the books taught to the students, and searched the students’ bags.

The Ministry of Education threatens to withdraw the licenses of schools in Jerusalem that teach the Palestinian curriculum on the pretext that it contains “inflammatory content against the Israeli government and the army.” The Ministry stipulates that the curriculum, which is being reprinted and during which many lessons are deleted and changed, be taught.

A tight siege

For the fourth week in a row, the siege imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque continues, with forces deployed at all its gates and roads, imposing severe restrictions on the entry of worshipers and preventing young people from entering and praying there.

Dozens of settlers carried out their incursions into Al-Aqsa, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.

The occupation forces also continue to deploy at the gates, streets, and roads of the Old City, and the forces deliberately arrested young men, examined their identities, and physically searched them.

In the evening hours, clashes broke out in the town of Al-Tur and the Shu’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem.

The forces attacked a vehicle with 5 young men inside it while they were in Al-Tur, and severely beat them.

Siraj Abu Arafeh, the lawyer of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem, explained that the forces arrested 6 young men from Al-Tur and Wadi Al-Joz in the evening hours.
