Day 55: Al-Aqsa Flood Operation in the city of Jerusalem
On the 55th day of “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation, the seventh batch of the “exchange deal” between Israel and Hamas was completed, and two martyrs died after carrying out a shooting attack in Jerusalem, while the forces continued their siege imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the municipality forced a Jerusalemite family to self-demolish its home.
Exchange deal
On the seventh day of the “humanitarian truce,” the occupation authorities released 30 Palestinian prisoners, while the Al-Qassam Brigades released 10 Israelis.
Among the released prisoners are 3 Jerusalemite prisoners:
• Ahmed Mohamed Marzouk; has been detained since July 2023
• Ahmed Fadel Al-Ajlouni; has been detained since June 2023
• Mahmoud Al-Shallodi; has been detained since August 2023
From the first day of the release of the Jerusalemite prisoners, the occupation authorities follow the same procedures of summoning the detainee’s guardian and informing him of the conditions of release: “not to gather while receiving the prisoner, not to raise flags and banners, and not to set off fireworks,” and then to detain him/her until the time of the prisoner’s release, where they are released together and delivered to the door of their house, and while they are being transported in the police car, they are prevented from talking to each other or greeting each other.
The forces stormed the homes of the prisoners before the time of their release. In the home of the prisoner Al-Ajlouni, they evacuated the press crews and prevented their presence in the place. They took him to the Damascus Gate area and placed iron barriers and prevented entry through it except for the residents of the Old City and settlers.
The forces also stormed the Al-Shallodi family’s home in the Al-Thori neighborhood in Silwan.
Martyrs of Jerusalem
In the early morning hours, two brothers, Ibrahim Nimer, 30 years old, and Murad Nimer, 38 years old, carried out a shooting attack that led to the death of 3 settlers and resulted in several other moderate to serious injuries.
The two martyrs are Murad Nimer, a freed prisoner who spent 10 years in prison. He was freed in 2020, and is married and has two children, and Ibrahim Nimer was arrested in 2014 and spent 8 months in prison. He is married and has one daughter.
The occupation forces, with their various teams and forces, stormed two buildings of the Nimer family, and vandalized and destroyed the contents of all the homes.
Nimer's family explained that the forces arrested 9 members of the family during the storming of the house, including 3 women.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem reported that the intelligence released the parents of the two martyrs and their wives, while extending the detention of the brothers of the martyrs - Ahmed, Mohammad, and Haitham Nimer, and their cousin, Mamoun Nimer, until Friday.
The occupation forces stormed the homes of the Nimer family several times, and prevented the establishment of a funeral home or the gathering of young people in its vicinity.
Late Thursday night, large forces stormed the two houses, accompanied by crews from the engineering unit. They examined the walls of the house and took measurements, then demanded that the family unload and evacuate urgently.
Self-demolition
The occupation municipality forced the Mashal family to self-demolish its homes, in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Ihab Mashal explained that his apartment had been in existence since 2015, and had an area of 90 square meters, and a building violation fine worth 40,000 shekels was imposed on him.
The second apartment belongs to Mrs. Mervat Mashal, and its area is 60 square meters.
A continuous siege
The occupation authorities continue to impose their siege on Al-Aqsa Mosque, preventing entry to it except for employees of the Islamic Endowments and the elderly, most of whom are residents of the Old City.
134 settlers carried out their incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards during the morning and afternoon incursion periods.
The forces also continue to be present and stationed at the gates of the Old City and in its streets.
In the morning hours, the boys, Ahmed Al-Julani and Hamza Al-Tawil, turned themselves in to prison to serve their sentences.
Al-Julani was sentenced to 20 months in prison, while Al-Tawil was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
The boys were sentenced to house arrest for two years and one month, and were deported from their homes.
