Married and living in Jerusalem for 13 years - Mrs. Suhair Abu Sbeih was deported from the city
December 1, 2023

On Friday evening, the occupation authorities deported a Palestinian woman from the city of Jerusalem, under the pretext of “illegal residency” in the city.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the occupation forces arrested Mrs. Suhair Abu Sbeih this afternoon after stopping her, along with her husband, Iyad Abu Sbeih, at a police checkpoint near the village of Umm Tuba. The occupation police claimed that her residence and presence in Jerusalem is illegal.

The center added - quoting Iyad Abu Sbeih - that the forces transferred his wife to the “Oz” police station, and after several hours of detention and interrogation, they released her at the “Sheikh Saad” checkpoint, on condition of deportation and not entering the city of Jerusalem, under the pretext of “illegal residency” in the city.

Abu Sbeih pointed out that the police informed him that his wife would be released at Checkpoint 300, but he was surprised by a call from them after her release when she was at the Sheikh Saad checkpoint.

Abu Sbeih confirmed that his wife has a valid residence permit and entry and movement permit in Jerusalem, pointing out that she has been living in the city since their marriage 13 years ago.
