Day 64: Al-Aqsa Flood Operation in the city of Jerusalem
On the 64th day of “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation, the siege imposed on Al-Aqsa Mosque continues, deployment in Old Jerusalem and at its gates, while the national and Islamic forces in Jerusalem call for a comprehensive strike next Monday.
Since the seventh of last October, the authorities have imposed strict restrictions on the entry of Muslims into Al-Aqsa Mosque by stationing themselves at the gates of Al-Aqsa, erecting iron barriers, stopping all those arriving before allowing them to enter, checking their IDs (age and place of residence), conducting a search, and preventing most people from entering, except for a small number of the elderly.
Al-Aqsa is empty of worshippers, and the chapels and courtyards appear almost empty.
At the gates of the Old City, the forces continue to deploy at the gates, especially Lions, Herods, and Damascus gates, which are the gates that Palestinians take heading to the markets of the Old City or Al-Aqsa. The forces stop the arrivals, conduct field investigations with them, and prevent some - especially young men - from entering towards the Old City.
The forces continue to prevent sitting in the Damascus Gate area.
Forces also continued to raid towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, and to set up checkpoints in the streets.
The national and Islamic forces called for a comprehensive strike next Monday, “in rejection of the American veto and in harmony with the global call for a comprehensive strike to demand an end to the aggression against Gaza.”
The national and Islamic forces appealed to the necessity of holding ties in Jerusalem, praying in Al-Aqsa, and defending it in the face of settlers’ incursions.
