Day 91: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation

On the 91st day of “Al-Aqsa Flood Operation,” the occupation authorities imposed restrictions on Muslims entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers, attacked worshipers in the streets of the city, and prayers were held in the streets and roads.

Al-Aqsa...Restrictions, repression and attacks

In a measure followed for the 13th consecutive Friday, the occupation authorities impose restrictions on the entry of worshipers into Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers.

Police checkpoints and deployment in the streets of the city, stationed at the gates of the Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque, presence in the Ras Al-Amoud neighborhood and Wadi Al-Joz, stopping all those arriving to Al-Aqsa, small numbers of worshipers were able to reach it, after passing several checkpoints, or after trying to pass through a number of gates.

15,000 worshipers prayed Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa, according to the Islamic Endowments Department.

Worshipers were attacked in several areas in Jerusalem. In the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, gas and sound bombs were thrown at a group of young men while they were praying in the street, and in the Lions Gate and Ras al-Amoud areas, worshipers were attacked by beatings and pushing, in addition to attacks on some young men in the Damascus Gate and Herods Gate areas, and in the streets of the Old City.

The forces also continue to prevent sitting in the Damascus Gate area.

Jabal Al-Mukabber

For the second day in a row, the occupation authorities continued to place cement cubes and police barriers at the entrance to the Al-Jdaira neighborhood in the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, and stopped all vehicles as they left or entered the neighborhood, checked the passengers’ identities, and searched the vehicle.

The forces placed cement cubes after a demolition of a residential building in the Al-Jdaira neighborhood for the Shqairat family last Wednesday, and the area witnessed confrontations and repression that continued for several hours.

The forces also stormed the neighborhood and deployed in its alleys.

In the morning hours, the police set up a checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Issawiya, stopped vehicles and checked identity cards.
