Day 142: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
February 25, 2024

On the 142nd day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the incursions into the towns and neighborhoods of the city of Jerusalem continued, and the restrictions imposed on worshipers' entry to Al-Aqsa continued as well.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center- Jerusalem explained that the forces stormed the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan, and issued dozens of fines to vehicles in the area.

The center added, quoting the residents, that each fine was worth 250 shekels.

The residents explained that for several days they have been parking their vehicles in the neighborhood "on both sides of the road", after confiscating and closing two and a half dunoms of the neighborhood's land for the benefit of the settlers, and preventing the residents from using it as a parking lot, knowing that the land belongs to the Abu Diab, Silwadi, and Rajabi families, and it was confiscated under the pretext of being a "Jewish endowment".

The residents added that they were surprised to receive fines for their vehicles in the neighborhood today. The forces were deployed in the neighborhood, and they randomly fired grenades in the neighborhood.

In the town of Al-Tur, joint crews from the "municipality, tax authority, and the police" stormed the streets of the town, raided the shops and houses, and randomly issued fines for the residents.

In the afternoon hours, the forces stormed a park in the “Pisgat Zeev” settlement in Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem, and arrested 3 women and their children and detained them there, as eyewitnesses explained.

The forces also stormed the village of Issawiya in large numbers, arrested a young man, and tortured him while taking him to the police car.

At dawn, the forces stormed the Shu’fat refugee camp, and arrested two young men.

The occupation authorities continued to impose restrictions on worshipers entering Al-Aqsa; by stopping those coming to it and checking their identities and detaining them, searching their bags, and randomly preventing young men from entering Al-Aqsa.

On Sunday, 212 settlers carried out their incursions into Al-Aqsa, during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, through the Dung Gate, whose keys have been controlled by the occupation authorities since the occupation of Jerusalem.

The intelligence services summoned the freed prisoner Mohammad Ali Suri, immediately after his release and the end of his 3-year sentence, and ordered him "not to hold celebrations, not to raise flags and banners, and not to hold any gatherings."

Suri was arrested 3 years ago from the Al-Musrara area in Jerusalem, and was charged with "assaulting a settler".

The intelligence service also summoned the Jerusalemite Ms. Khadija Khweis, and handed her a decision prohibiting her from traveling until 18/3/2024 with the possibility of renewal for 4 months.
