Day 177: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 177th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the occupation forces stormed the "tents of the worshippers in I’tikaf" in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the raids and arrests continued from the streets and neighborhoods of Jerusalem, in addition to issuing orders to deport them from the "Old City and Al-Aqsa Mosque".
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center – Jerusalem explained that the forces stormed several times the "tents of the worshippers in I’tikaf" in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Nasser Qos, the director of the Prisoner's Club in Jerusalem, explained that for the second day in a row, the forces raided the tents of the worshippers in Al-Aqsa, and checked all their cell phones and personal identity cards, in addition to searching their belongings.
Qos added that the forces stormed the tents in conjunction with the Aser “call to prayer”, in a clear provocation to the fasting Muslims present in Al-Aqsa.
Qos pointed out that the pursuits and harassments affect all those present in Al-Aqsa, noting that the forces arrested a young man on Sunday from Al-Aqsa on the pretext of "illegal residence because he has a West Bank ID."
Worshippers continue to flock to Al-Aqsa to perform prayers and participate in religious circles and religious lessons.
The forces will continue to be present at all the gates of Al-Aqsa and on its roads.
On the other hand, the incursions and arrests continued from the neighborhoods and towns of the city of Jerusalem, affecting "women, young men and girls".
The District Court sentenced the young man Rushdi Abu Rammouz from the town of Silwan to actual imprisonment for 53 months and imposed a "fine" of 12 thousand shekels on him.
In the hours before midnight, the forces heavily fired tear gas canisters in the streets of the Shu’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem.
