Day 178: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 178th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the Israeli occupation authorities continued the incursions and arrests from the towns and neighborhoods of the city of Jerusalem, and the decisions to expel them from Al-Aqsa.
The Wadi Hilweh Information Center explained that the forces stormed the Shu’fat refugee camp at dawn and in the early morning hours, and arrested two young men, and also posted "threatening leaflets" on the walls of the camp "on the pretext of the confrontations at the checkpoint", referring to the targeting of the young martyr Rami Al-Halhouli and the "punitive" measures against the residents including the closing of the checkpoint and dropping bombs.
The forces stormed the town of Silwan in the evening, and arrested Nasrallah Al-A’war and extended his detention until Tuesday. Nasrallah was released last November, in the third batch of the "exchange deal" between Israel and Hamas.
On the other hand, the police said that they arrested a couple from the Al-Thori neighborhood in Silwan.
The intelligence handed over the Jerusalemite activist Mohammad Abu al-Hummos a decision to expel him from the Al-Aqsa Mosque for 3 months. Abu al-Hummos was arrested on the second Friday of the month of Ramadan, immediately after he left Al-Aqsa and was physically assaulted, and he was released on the condition that he be expelled for a week, and today the decision was renewed for 3 more months.
On the other hand, the forces continued to remain stationed and deployed at the gates of Al-Aqsa and on its roads. They also stormed the Al-Qibli prayer hall during the afternoon hours and conducted a tour among the worshippers.
Meanwhile, the Israeli police prevented a number of the follow-up committee delegation from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The follow-up committee explained that the police prevented the chairman of the committee, Mohammad Baraka, and the committee member, Mohammad Asaad Kana’na, from entering Al-Aqsa, and assaulted them.
The committee added that as soon as the head of the follow-up committee, Mohammad Baraka, arrived at Lions Gate, the police stopped him and inspected his vehicle and claimed "that the vehicle is unfit for use", and that it can be used for one hour.
Muhammad Kana'na was also detained, before arriving at the Al-Aqsa gates, and was informed that he was prevented from entering on the pretext that "he threatens the safety of the public", and was assaulted, and taken to Al-Maqased Hospital for examinations.
The forces also obstructed the entry of Sheikh Raed Salah and Professor Ibrahim Abu Jaber for a long time until the meeting ended, and the police also imposed "traffic fines" on both Omar Nassar, the former mayor of Araba, and Mahmoud Mowasi, also to delay their entry to the mosque, but they succeeded in entering the meeting late.
The meeting was held in Al-Aqsa between the follow-up delegation, and the religious and administrative figures in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
