Day 193: Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
April 16, 2024

On the 193rd day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the occupation authorities blew up the house of the Jerusalemite martyr Khaled Al-Muhtaseb, while settlers’ raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque continued.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that engineering crews and explosives experts, accompanied by occupation forces and officers, stormed the town of Beit Hanina, north of Jerusalem, in the early morning hours, and raided a residential building containing the apartment of the family of the martyr Khaled Al-Muhtaseb.

The families living in the building explained that the forces imposed a complete siege on the building and the street on which it is located, closed all roads leading to the area, then raided the building and all apartments, and demanded that the residents immediately leave and not close the doors of their homes.

The families added that the forces informed them that they would be prevented from returning to their homes until the afternoon hours, when the demolition of the martyr Al-Muhtaseb’s apartment would be carried out after pouring concrete inside it.

The "concrete pouring" continued inside the house of the martyr Al-Muhtaseb for more than 6 hours, during which the explosive crews planted explosive materials in the walls of some rooms, and several hours after the "concrete pouring" was completed, parts of the apartment were blown up.

The residential building includes 3 floors (13 apartments), and the apartment is located on the first floor.

The martyr Al-Muhtaseb was killed last October, after an armed clash at the Salah al-Din Street police station in Jerusalem, and last February, the “Commander of the Home Front Command” signed the decision to demolish the martyr’s home.

The occupation authorities continue to detain the body of the martyr Khaled Al-Muhtaseb in refrigerators.

Al-Aqsa incursions

Settlers' incursions into Al-Aqsa continued, and 191 settlers carried out their incursions into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa during the morning and afternoon incursion periods, guarded by the occupation forces, and they performed prayers during that.

Raids, arrests, and assaults

On Tuesday early morning, the forces stormed Shu’fat refugee camp and arrested the boy Yazan Kayaleh.

They also arrested the young man, Mohammad Hamid, from Kufor Aqab, north of Jerusalem.

A session was held for the Jerusalemite, Jadallah al-Ghoul, and it was postponed until next May, noting that he has been under house arrest for 8 months.

The occupation authorities also renewed the administrative detention of Sufian Obaid, for two months.

Meanwhile, settlers assaulted the Jerusalemite, Ramzi Sub Laban, by beating him during his return from work in West Jerusalem, which led to him sustaining a wound on his “forehead” and multiple bruises.
