Day 237 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
On the 237th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", demolition operations in the city of Jerusalem and raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque continued, with preparations to carry out mass raids next Wednesday on the anniversary of the occupation of the eastern part of Jerusalem, “according to the Hebrew calendar.”
Demolition and notification of the demolition of a residential building
The occupation municipality forced Ibrahim Derbas to self-demolish his house in the village of Issawiya, under the pretext of building without a license.
The family explained that the municipality gave them several days to implement the demolition decision, otherwise a violation of “building without a license” would be imposed, in addition to “paying the demolition costs to the municipality and its accompanying crews,” so the demolition was the family’s only option.
In the village of Jabal Al-Mukabber, the Salama Sawahreh family began unloading the contents of their residential building, to implement the decision to demolish it in the coming days.
Atta Salama Al-Sahouri explained that the building has been in place since 2002, and in 2006 prosecutions began from the municipality, and in 2007 the first demolition decision for the building was issued, and since then, through the lawyer, the decision has been frozen and postponed “for a year or 6 months,” but since last year it has not been possible to do so, as the postponement became for a period not exceeding 3 months, and “for each extension, approximately 30 thousand shekels are paid each time, as he explained.
Atta added that the last postponement was last March to the date of May 7 and attached to the decision “that a new postponement of the demolition decision will be issued in the event of submitting the license file and procedures,” pointing out that a year and a half ago the license file was frozen.
He said: “In its latest decision, the municipality refused to postpone the demolition decision, and gave us only a month to implement the decision, and therefore I will implement it by force.”
He pointed out that the building consists of 3 floors (6 residential apartments) in which approximately 50 people live.
He explained that the municipality imposed building violations on him, in addition to costs for the license, postponement of demolition, and the courts.
Renewing the decision to prevent the Jerusalem Governor from entering the West Bank
The occupation intelligence summoned the Governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, to the “Rooms 4” police station, and handed him a decision “preventing entry into the West Bank” until 16/9/2024.
Al-Aqsa Mosque
On Thursday, 227 extremist Jewish settlers and students stormed Al-Aqsa, through the Dung Gate, “during the morning and afternoon incursion periods.”
The alleged Temple groups called for incursions into Al-Aqsa next Wednesday, “Jerusalem Day,” which is the anniversary of the occupation of the eastern part of the city, and they called on settlers to raise Israeli flags in Al-Aqsa.
They were also invited to participate in the “Flags Dance Parade” on the same day, but without specifying the route yet.
Releases and assaults
The police released the child, Adam Zaytoun, 14 years old, on condition of house arrest for two days.
The child, Zaytoun, suffers from leg pain, wounds, and scratches on his face, head, ear, and neck after being beaten during his arrest late Wednesday evening.
The police also released the young man, Mahdi Mufid Khdour, 18 years old, on condition of house arrest for two days. The young man suffers from severe facial swelling and pain due to the assault he was subjected to during his arrest and detention.
Zaytoun and Khdour were assaulted in Silwan, with rifle butts, punches, and sticks.
The raids on towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem continued, and police checkpoints were set up in the city’s streets.
