Day 255 Jerusalem during “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation
June 17, 2024

On the 255th day of "Al-Aqsa Flood Operation", the raids on towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem continued, and the “alleged Temple groups” continued to demand that settlers be allowed to storm Al-Aqsa during the days of Eid al-Adha.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center - Jerusalem explained that the forces stormed several towns and neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem, especially Shu’fat refugee camp, the village of Issawiya, and the town of Silwan.

The forces also continued to deploy and set up police checkpoints in the streets of Jerusalem.

The forces continued to stop young men at the gates of the Old City, to check their identities, and they also subjected some to physical searches.

As for the groups and organizations of the alleged temple, they demanded the police to allow settlers to storm Al-Aqsa and not to close the Dung Gate - where the raids are carried out from- during the days of Eid, objecting to its closure and the ministers’ approval of that.

Settlers' incursions into Al-Aqsa are carried out daily during the incursions program, with the exception of Friday and Saturday every week, the holidays "Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha", and religious occasions.

It is noteworthy that on “Eid al-Adha” in 2019, settlers were allowed to storm Al-Aqsa on the first day of Eid al-Adha because it coincided with the so-called “memory of the destruction of the Temple.”

On Sunday, the occupation authorities prevented thousands of worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa to perform Eid prayers, and attacked the worshipers by beating, pushing, and arresting them.
